I stopped using the Stick Thompson on a number of inferiority counts versus Drum-Thompson, including the damage per bullet it did.

Those aside, redundancy comes to mind.
Remember that MP40 vs MP41 comes to mind now.

Kar, I don't see ANY Russians using a PK Machine-gun, so talking of how you don't see much of that going on in the war this mod is themed around...

I think technology that -predates- the war is more likely than post-war technology.
If you know what I mean.

Also Kar, if the 1928A1 is removed in favor of the M1A4, then I'll use the Sten MkII.
...Unless you were to fix the damage SMGs deal so that they're fair and not just the (present) Thompson and the Sten have a monopoly on being any good.

Kar has changed my mind on the 1928A1 Thompson.
It would be perfectly fine if it were removed in dealing with the redundancy of two Thompsons.

On the condition that the M1A4 be made more powerful per bullet than the 1928A1 was, by about 20%, to compensate for the massive drop in magazine size ~25 bullets/mag

The Grease Gun still falls under my opinion of "redundancy" in a different sense than matching another gun, but in it being an American SMG, when there is only one SMG for the other three countries.
(Yet it's also functionally identical to the MP41, so there's that as well.)
The SMGs should all be "good" (practical) and fun to use, but not functionally identical to each other.

Example:

Sten Mk.II:
* Low magazine size
* Medium bullet damage
* High reload speed
* Medium recoil

Thompson M1A4:
* Medium magazine size
* High bullet damage
* Medium reload speed
* High recoil

PPSH-41:
* Huge magazine size
* Low bullet damage
* Slow reload speed
* Low recoil

MP41:
* Large magazine size
* Medium bullet damage
* Medium reload speed
* No recoil
