Re: Smite
I'll take one (pm me), I've been trying to get in there. How did you get extra keys?

Just out of curiosity, how did you get your initial beta key? Random selection from being registered?

ah, I see. I'm a cheap bastard so I'll take advantage of the f2p part. It's really pretty fun I enjoy the perspective they use for it. Moba games aren't that appealing to me in general but this one is pretty fun, thanks for the key.

Yeah, a lot of it depends on the community too though. Now the dota 2 community for instance, is pure shit. Bunch of assholes. My first match they wanted to kick me because I was new. How the hell am I supposed to learn... Smite players seem more friendly.

Re: Smite
The Irony is I use to play Dota regularly about 10yrs ago when it first started, before Icefrog had control of it. It was horribly unbalanced but it was so fresh it was really addictive. I played it for like 2yrs on and off and then it would come back again into the office I was at and guys there would want to play, I was older than most of them and they'd be like "Hey were going to play dota, ever heard of it?" And I'd tell them yeah I've watched a couple videos before ; ) After that at the end of each day when they were setting up teams they would argue over which team I would play on. The really funny part was that my skill level compared to seasoned players today was just shit, but it's always the most fun when you're just playing casually with friends & coworkers. At least that's my experience. Just like you're saying really, community.
I'm in my late 30s and I've worked for a couple of game developers for about 5yrs in the past and my opinion is that Hi-rez did a really good job with this game. I see nothing but success for them with this title. It's rare for a dev studio to take chances on IPs like this and I think they pretty much nailed it. Again thanks for sharing.
