Re: Dead Space 3
You guys are breaking my heart here :( I just don't understand how there is too much action? Of course there is gonna be action when weapons are involved!? ---------------- "Fighting was the only thing... the only thing I was good at. Re: Dead Space 3
How can I explain this. Despite there being weapons in the first one, on my first play through I was always low on ammo, could never find or buy enough. That was survival horror for me, I remember near the end I was running from necromorphs because I had no ammo. Every encounter was dreaded because I was never sure if I had enough health/ammo to survive it. It's the lack of dakka, in the dark, alone, that made it scary for me. The trailer doesn't show that. It shows plenty of dakka, boom, mash, raaa, splat. What made the franchise great (for me) was scifi survival horror. It's going a little to action based now. Now like I said I hope I'm wrong. But I'm not holding out to much hope on it. ---------------- Lair Keeper - Long Fang - Pack Keeper

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NONONONONONONONONONONONONNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/18/dea ... s-you-stack-guns-on-guns/Quote: You know what this Line Gun needs? A flamethrower. We've all thought about it and in Dead Space 3 players will be able to construct just that. Just make sure you credit us for the completely original idea!
By gathering materials, one can proceed over to the nearest weapons bench and get to work. Players will be able to "build guns, modify guns and share guns," Dead Space 3's UI lead Dino Ignacio reveals in the above trailer. And once something has been made, players can then share their blueprint with the Dead Space 3 community, allowing others to copy and use the weapon in question in their own game.
So can we make a Plasma Cutter that is actually eight Plasma Cutters? Well, EA, can we? Quote: Nathan_DTS This is stupid; it just alienates and wastes people's time. I'd rather know what situations the gun is meant to be used in, which is why most games have predetermined guns, or very little customisation.
Quote: JoshKleier Great I have to waste my time modifying all my weapons. I don't want to. In DS2 I only used 5 of the weapons and only focused my upgrades on 1 or 2 of them. Sure you can respec them I think but I really just care about playing the game, not perfecting my weapons. To me, this sucks. Quote: vgt207 Just like co-op I can imagine this would be cool, but I can't help but think this hurts the horror aspect too. Part of horror is being unprepared, never knowing what's next. Making an awesome gun that can fit any scenario kills the hopeless feeling.
WHYYYY EA, WHY YOU MASSACRE THIS!!! im so sad now... FUCK THIS! IMMA CREATING MY OWN SURVIVAL HORROR IN SPACE! ----------------

Very disappointing, the trailer also shows Isaac being on a planet, so it shouldn't even be called dead space anymore lol.

Re: Dead Space 3
Dead Space 1 had the proper ambience and and overall attitude and tone. Dead Space 2 relied too heavily on suurprise scaring...which lets me say quite literally that this game gets on my nerves it lost its attitude and i think the sloppy MP just wasted the devs time that couldve been used to polish up the single player-what dead space is all about I think EA will pressure the devs to waste their time on a multiplayer to ensure they get extra money for the online activation fee. Unfortunately, once again, it will subtract from the time spent on polishing up the campaign with that "attitude" ive been referring to. ----------------
