Help with modification of Killing Floor dedicated server
Hello,

For some time now my Dad and I have had a Killing Floor dedicated server. Recently we installed IJC whitelisted weapon pack, the Brute,Shiver,Hellfire,and Fatale. We wanted two more mutators on our server that we had seen elsewhere, the M4A1 Pulse Rifle from the Alien / AvP movies and games, and the portal turret. Upon installation all perks were disabled and inaccessible. We put what i believe to be Marco Server Perks on to compensate for this but are unable to get our server running the way we want it. Server perks work but we cannot choose at the start of the game and must wait till we spawn, thus removing our lvl 6 spawn weapons. Trying to change perks results in a 50/50 chance of getting lvl 0 blank perk or getting what you want.

Could any modders or WPC admins help with setup of our server?

Ok, a lot of what you installed wasn't whitlisted, this means your 'official' perks will not be accessible. Marco's Server Perks works as an alternative with different stat tracking.

If you go to your '../killingfloor/system/' folder you can find a 'ServerPerksV5.ini' in this there are options to allow you to set where your perks start. By default they are set to -1. If you put this at 6 you should be good to go with your level6 perks. There is also an option for force perk, set that to True to make sure you have a perk on entering. Sometime changing perks can be a little buggy. But considering how involved serverperks is we can forgive Marco for that.

We had already set that up. However we were unable to spawn with our weapons

It sounds like something is interfering with the serverperks. Disable the IJC pack mutator if you are running it and add the weapons to the shop manually.

Dont run the weapon mutators in the lines. eg : MutM41A. You only need to place them in the serverpackage :

serverpackages=MutM41A

And place them in the SeverPerksV5.ini. eg :

TraderInventory=4:MutM41A.M41AAssaultRifle

SO DONT PLACE THEM IN THE MUTATOR STARTUPLINES/SERVER STARTUPLINES. Voting handler doesnt need them either.

They appear in the shop btw, if you want to spawn with them you can only activate 1 by putting the mutator in the startuplines/votinghandler. Like the MutM41A

Thank you for your input, however I am having trouble understanding your instructions. Are you saying that we do not need to enable the IJC weapon pack mutator on the web admin page?

Also, will the weapons scale with marco's server perks? Ex - KSG shotgun will get more damage with lvl 12 shotgun and cost less?

If it isn't too much trouble a step by step instructions would do wonders for me.

Enabled / Working Mutators
1.) Marco's Server Perks v5 / Server Veterancy Handler v5
2.) Portal turret without custom trader / added to Veterancy Handler's .ini / bought in trader
3.) Brute, Hellfire, Shiver, Fatale
4.) M41A (spawns in hand / not in trader)

Disabled / Trying to get working Mutators
1.) IJC Weapons Pack Whitelisted 2.7 (Without Braindead Hunting Rifle)


Thankyou for your patience in dealing with my inexperience, I understand that dealing with noobs (me) can be frustrating.

*Edit* My Dad thinks he may understand what you mean in above posts, however further instruction may still be helpful.

*Edit x3 on this reply* M41A is activated and working how we want it with server perks. The pickup you gave for M41A was incorrect, I messed around and used M41APickup rather than M41AAssaultRiflePickup and it worked. Now I think i need the ServerPackages entry for IJC weapons pack. Trying to locate now.

*Final Edit* Need to get weapons to scale with perks, Finally got guns to appear.

I the IJC weapon pack mutator is showing in web admin, enable it and hop in server and see if the guns are showing.

After you place the file in the server(be sure server is off).
after files are on then stat server.
Go in web admin and go to the Mutators list there should be,

KF-WeaponPack
IJC WeaponPack W2.7 + BD Hunting Rifle
and
IJC WeaponPack Whitelisted V2.7

Pick the one you want to use.
